Retreats
Prajna Institute for Buddhist Studies hosts annual Retreats where an academic meeting takes place within the context of a traditional Buddhist practice retreat.
These retreats are completely optional, but highly recommended.
During these Retreats, learners have the opportunity to interact with both faculty and other learners, in both formal and informal contexts. Learners have opportunities to discuss their shared personal, scholarly and practice interests.
Annual Retreats include elective courses as well as presentations by invited noted Buddhist teachers. A typical Retreat includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Community meetings
- Community meals
(both informal, and formal 4-bowl monastic style) - Special events with invited speakers
- Academic courses
- Initial meetings of online courses
